I know...I'm a pack rat! (pics included!)

Ok so I got most, not all, done today that I needed/wanted to get done. Everything I listed before minus the phone calls, invitations, party arrangements and 5 loads of laundry. BUT I did get things done that I hadn't even planned on doing. We cleaned out the older kids' closet. And let me tell ya...it.was.work! O.M.G!!! It was insane!!!

Now I know I've said before that I am a pack rat but I don't think any of you can imagine exactly my extent of pack-ratting abilities. Take a look at these pics. These are the things that I have saved for my kids...well the two oldest ones anyway, just in their closet, I have more in the basement in storage. They share a room so this was the stuff just in their closet. And let me tell ya, those hat boxes in the pics look small but they are filled to the rims with stuff. I also have a hat box and about three bags of stuff for my youngest but we didn't work on her closet today...I have to keep what little sanity I have left. But I have everything!!! I'm sick...I know! You can get up off the floor now and stop laughing at me!

So to list I have: their first outfits that they wore home from the hospital, their first pair of shoes, their first 'My 1st' bibs, their baby announcements, videos, pictures, handmade baby blankets, outfits they wore for their first birthdays, Christmases, Easters, Halloweens, Baptisms, baby books and calendars, umbilical cords, first curls from their first haircuts, their 'Big Sister' 'Big Brother' shirts that they wore, binkies, cards from their baby showers and when they were born, all their 1st holidays cards and pretty much you name it I've kept it and put it in a pretty box or bag. I also have about 3 scrapbooks for my oldest and 2 for my son and so far only 1 for my youngest...sorry sweety...I'll catch up one day! lol It's crazy how much I've kept but I can't bring myself to part with any of it. What if one day when they have kids of their own they want to hand down some of their things? What kind of mom or grandma would I be if I got rid of them?

I wish I had taken pics of their closet before but I didn't. But I do have after shots....here ya go! Their closet is really small (not as small as it looks in these pics but small non the less) especially for two of them using it. But now we have room to place other things in there. We even cleaned out my daughter's cubbord and filled it up with all of their board and card games. Look how clean and organized it is! I even have a box on top for their extra hangers and sheets! WOW!

Check out how much crap we threw away! Praise Jesus! I threw away some stuff! lol Now, can you imagine what would happen if I would stop being a pack rat and throw away more stuff? We would have enough space for three more kids! Now if I could get my basement done and throw away the things that I have for me down there I would be set! Just last year I finally threw away my old corsages and keepsakes from old boyfriends; I don't know why I kept them but...I did. They're gone now so that's one big plastic storage box emptied! lol

So now I'm done and tired! Bed is sounding so great right now! My day is done...I hope tomorrow is as successful and productive as today was! Night!

you're such a nerd. what are you going to do when you get all excited one day to show all this crap to your kids, and they're like, "great, mom. my friend has a daughter i can give all this crap to" hahahaha! god forbid amaya gets into dance, then you'll have to buy another house just to keep all her costumes, shoes, her first snotrag from a recital, etc. :) love you honey!
