Winter/colds/doctors and me going nuts!

Ahhh...today has been C R A Z Y !!! I'm so sick and tired of winter already that I could scream! This morning when I woke up it was '0' degrees outside! And with the wind chill it was in the negatives! YUCK! There is NOTHING I like about winter! I hate the snow, the cold, the bone chilling winds, the salt all over the cars and streets that gets tracked in on your shoes, the chapped lips, the gas bill...all of it! I'm a complete spring/fall girl!

So anyway, last night I finally took my youngest in to an Urgent Care to get checked out. She's had a fever since Saturday night and it wasn't going away. There were no other symptoms of anything though so I had no idea why she wasn't feeling well. With her SPD (Sensory Processing Disorder) she has a very high pain tolerance so when she's not feeling well or hurts herself we don't know right away. So when I took her in and the doc said that she had an ear infection and red throat I wasn't all that surprised...I knew it had to be something. I don't even know what the temp was outside last night but it was windy as all hell and taking her in and out of the car when she had a fever was something I just felt terrible about. So now she is on meds and seems to be feeling a little better today. Wheww...

Then this morning I got a call from my oldest daughter's school saying that she was in the nurses office with a tummy ache and that she was crying. My oldest doesn't cry; she's a tough cookie unless something really hurts or she is really upset or stressed about something, so I knew something was going on. But she was fine 2 hours before when she left for school so I thought maybe she got into a tiff with a friend or something and told her to try to tough it out; yes, I'm one of THOSE moms! lol Then an hour later another call...no change. So I went and picked her up from school and then headed to get my son from pre-school. They came home, had lunch and now everyone is laying down. Ahhh...(sigh of relief!) I feel like I've been going non stop today.

Tonight is supposed to be extremely cold! In the negs for the high! I'm already suffering from cabin fever so I'm sure here soon I'm gonna be pulling my hair out and rocking back and forth while muttering and drooling. (Picture Goldie Hawn in the movie Overboard when she was muttering while the kids were throwing grapes at her! That will be me!)
