Update about my youngest daughter's SPD evaluation. Sorry Michelle, I got tired last night and didn't post it.
So the lady came over and asked a butt load of questions and did some observing. Of course my daughter was being pretty good so it is hard to tell what she is actually like during the rest of the week. Go figure! The lady kept saying how many words she had, "Oh my, we have a lot of words dont' we?" Ummm...NO lady, that is called babbeling! And saying "Eeeee" is not considered a "word" in my book.
So time passed and thankfully my daughter started acting up a little. She was climbing all over the books, built-in bookshelves, standing on the chair, climbing on the recliner and sofa and so on. So needless to say she was everywhere! The lady told me that it was a sensory thing to constantly be climbing, hitting, banging and hurting her head, pouring things over her head, not wanting to be touched on the head by anybody other than herself, stuffing her mouth FULL with food and so on. So she did tell me that she difinately has sensory issues but she isn't sure, until she "grades" the checklists that we did, if she will qualify for occupational therapy once a week. So I will have to wait until I get the report in the mail next week. She did though give me some exercises to do with her such as, putting her in a blanket, wrapping her up and swinging her in it, putting her inbetween some pillows (of course with her head out so that she can breath) and applying pressure, letting her push and pull a heavy laundry basket full of clothes and a couple more things.
So please say some prayers, cross your fingers or whatever it is that you tend to do so that she will qualify for some help. Thanks and I'll keep you all posted!
