Thank you ladies!

Thank you so much ladies! I really appreciate all your kind words, prayers and advice. We had our meeting today and it was not the evaluation like I thought. Instead it was more of a meeting for me to learn about the program, do a checklist with the lady and sign papers. We will have our evaluation in the next week or two and then they will tell me if she qualifies for further help or therapy. I will post an update as soon as I can after that's done.

Yes, I am currently reading The Out of Sync Child and it is very informative. The only thing I'm having a problem with is that it is more geared towards older kids and my youngest is only 20 months old. However, there is a lot I'm learning for my oldest, who is also going to be evaluated for SPD next Tuesday. She seems to fit right in with everything I'm reading, but I'm no doctor so we'll see what happens next week. There are some things in the book too that fit my son but he is only 3 and I think is fine. What kid doesn't have one or two of the SPD issues? He has had a rough little life so some of the things I think are just because he has been through so much. But, again, we'll see. He goes in on the 19th of this month.

I also have the other book you mentioned, although, I cannot think of the name of it right now. But it lists different games and activities to do with a SPD child. I will start reading it as soon as I finish the other book. I'm getting overwhelmed reading all these things. I don't have a medical degree so a lot of the things they talk about kind of go over my head (big surprise! lol).

Today has been another rough day with her. It is almost 2 o'clock and she still hasn't eaten. She was ok when the lady was here (go figure!) and actually warmed up to her really well. She normally looks at a new person and gives them the cold shoulder or looks at them like they're nuts even thinking they can talk to her. (aka snob! lol) After she left starting having her meltdowns. She's been throwing herself on the floor, banging her head against things and screaming! She is laying down right now so hopefully when she wakes up she'll be in a better mood. You just never know when the switch is going to turn on or off. It's like having a bipolar baby! NO JOKE! She's fine one minute and the next loosing it!

Anyway, thanks again and I will keep you all updated. Michelle, I would love to be in contact with you for advice and such. If you wouldn't mind emailing me your email address I would appreciate it. My email address is: bloggymommy3@yahoo.com Thanks again and talk to you all later!

I'm sorry it wasn't the evaluation you were hoping it would be. I know how that could be frustrating! Hopefully you'll get your answers soon enough. I'm glad you have both the books I mentioned. The Out of Sync Child is VERY hard to get through.. I read sections of it that pertained to Peyton, and then skipped over whole sections. But I really like the book of activities. Peyton does really good with heavy work activities. Anyway, I'll shoot you an email with my email address and we can keep in touch that way as well! ((hugs))
