I am so excited (excited is probably the wrong word) and relieved that I got the call today that I've been waiting for. My youngest daughter has been qualified to receive in home occupational therapy once a week! They originally didn't think that she would qualify because she wasn't 50% behind in any of the areas, she was, however, behind about 45%.
(Note: She is 21 months so she would have to be developing at around 11 months in at least one area; ie: communication, fine motor, etc. She ranked 12 months on communication and was between 12-16 months on pretty much everything.) But after observing her and seeing some of her issues with their own eyes they went ahead and approved her. They did say that she most definitely has sensory issues.
We meet either next week or the week following to set up an IFP
(Individualized Family Plan) for her. Hopefully this is the answer to our prayers and we can finally get some answers and activities to help her. We also are in the process of getting her appointments set up with a Pediatric Neurologist and into a Developmental Clinic to check and diagnose the problem(s).
Thank you for all your thoughts and prayers. Although, no parent wants anything to be wrong or different with their children, I am relieved to know that it's not just me that notices these things and to have someone to help me better understand her, what she's going through and what to do to help her. I can't wait to get started and seeing if it works!

I am here for you! She is so freaking cute! I know that it must be difficult with all of the medical problems that your children are having.
I am always praying for you and here for you to talk to! I am so thankful that my children are healthy and cannot imagine what you must be feeling. I know how i feel when my kids have a fever or a sore throat!
I also understand because my daughter '10' is about to have her tonsils taken out. They hurt her so bad and it will be such a relief to have this over with. the insurance has been a major problem and we have finally gotten that sorted! Praise Jesus.
That good news is that you have finally figured it out and are on the road to getting the baby the help that she needs.
I know God has a plan!
I am SOO glad you finally got the answers you were waiting for. I know how incredibly frustrating thiashas been for you, and I'm just so glad she qualifies for services. Welcome to the crazy world of SPD! LOL.. I hope the O.T helps, I *think* it has been helping Peyton a little bit!
I'm so glad to hear you and your daughter will get the much needed help you deserve. Yeah!
Thanks ladies! Ya know as much as I wanted them to say that she was just going through a phase and would outgrow it (and that be completely true) I knew that it was more than likely not the case. So I am happy that she qualified.
It is hard but I always think about the parents who are dealing with a child with cancer and realize that I don't have it that bad. Things could always be worse!
Oh my goodness..you have such a beatiful little girl...she is just absolutely precious! Merry Christmas!
