Bratz apparel or Hookers R Us apparel?

I SOOO have a question for all moms of little girls out there! When did it become acceptable for little girls to dress like Bratz dolls and look like little midget hookers? WHEN? Did I miss the memo that says it's cool and ok for little girls to look like cheap street walkers? I don't get it! Really! Please help me understand the error of my thinking.

I went to Kohl's with my mother yesterday to look for Christmas dresses for my girls. After looking through their selection I was terribly, horribly disappointed. All they had were either outfits that looked like they were life size Bratz doll apparel or they were just ugly. WTF? Seriously? Maybe I'm too overprotective. Maybe I'm a little too anal about how my kids dress and how people see and perceive them. Maybe, maybe, maybe! MAYBE these clothes designers DON'T have young children and don't understand that not every mother allows her children to dress like someone that would put Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman to shame and even make her look covered.

Now I know that my daughter would LOVE to dress in any of these not-so-appropriate dresses and mini skirts but the mother in me says HELL NO! I don't even know if I'll feel comfortable letting her wear some of these things when she is a teenager! There are so many creepy, nutty, sick, perverted people out there today and all we need to be doing is giving them good eye candy to look at. YUCK! No thank you! I think I will stick with pretty little girl dresses that cover her body and look appropriate! My respect for Kohl's has gone down dramatically. I can't believe they can't give more of a selection! We are talking about CHRISTMAS dresses for heck's sake NOT a juvi-rave! C'mon ladies, anyone else out there agree?

How ironic! I JUST did a blog about these little nasty things the other day. Check out what my MIL got for my little girls.

Oh, I did the Kadi "Love yourself" list too.

Adding you to my blogroll,
