My Sunday

So today was our annual Lupus Walk. We all put on our purple butterfly t-shirts (the purple or lavender butterfly is the Lupus symbol) and headed off for the walk. It went pretty well, there was an awesome turnout. There were more people there this year than the last 5! Terrific!!! (For those of you that do not know, my sister was diagnosed with Systemic Lupus seven years ago. We've almost lost her a number of times but her job here is not over; God has more plans for her.) We support her and try to raise money for the Lupus Foundation every year by going on the walk. Lupus is an autoimmune disease that can affect many parts of the body (internally and externally) and is difficult to diagnose and as of right now impossible to cure. It takes the lives of so many each year and is a hard disease to deal with. Keep my sister in your prayers as she goes through this and as we try to find a cure for her and all the other Lupus sufferers. She is doing well right now but we never know when a flare up is going to happen. She has already had a hip replacement (result from some of her meds) and may have to have something done with her knee in the future. We worry about her this time of year. For some reason in the winter and early spring months she has flare ups that tend to get pretty bad. Again, please keep her in your prayers.

On a lighter note, my daughter's soccer game was today too. As I told you before, we haven't won a game yet and are on a Galaxy Quest to do so. Today would have been a great game if we didn't have 12 year old refs that thought they knew what they were doing. (major eye roll) I have never seen our coach so upset! He was furious, as were a number of the parents. He called a goal for the other team when the ball didn't even go past the line in the goalie box. And then told the coach that if he didn't keep his "fans" under control he would call the game. (MAJOR EYE ROLL!) I could go on and on about all the things this big boy wannabe ref did but I won't bore you with all the details! So we lost the game 1/0! What a punk! We so almost had a number of goals but barely missed them. The girls did a wonderful job and were working better as a team today! Maybe next game!?

The funny thing about the other team, for some reason unknown to anyone from our team, was that their coach was wearing not only makeup but a too-too! It was pretty funny! So our coach said tonight that when our girls win their first game he will wear a too-too for their next game! Now that will be great! I will post pictures of that! lol

I'm getting ready to get some sleep now. I hope everyone had a great, safe weekend. Peace out! ;)
