Tell me, is it really that big of a deal to press a couple of buttons on your remote to unlock your tv so that you can watch a tv show? I mean...c'mon already...it's four friggin buttons! We just got a DVR, which is not as cool as I thought it would be, and since we have three small children I locked everything except for the kids channels. My husband thinks it is ridiculous! He is so peeved that all his channels are locked because now he has to enter a four digit code to unlock the tv to watch anything. So I ask you again, is it really that big of a deal? I think not! It keeps the kids from watching anything that they shouldn't be watching. And no matter what my husband thinks, I DO NOT have eyes on the back of my head and I *can't* watch their every move! He must think that since I eat Bon-Bons all day and watch tv that I can see everything they're watching on tv anyway. Well who does he thinks does everything around the house? I mean c'mon, between doing the laundry, the dishes, all the cooking and cleaning, raising three kids and keeping what little sanity I have left, it is nice to know that the kids cannot watch some dirty, raunchy, graphic, nasty-ass, bloody show!
It wasn't until about 2 years ago that I started locking all the channels, VH1, MTV, ABC Family, Discovery and National Geographic are a little too graphic at times for children. My oldest told me one day of a completely nasty story she had been watching on the National Geo-too-graphic channel while I was in the shower. I was horrified at what she was telling me and my fingers couldn't move fast enough to lock everything, but I did.
You would think that after working at two jobs and coming home to lie in your bed that pressing four little buttons would be the least of your worries or work for the day. But my husband is acting like it's Pilates for his fingers. 'Doctor! We have a man down! I repeat man down!!!'. I gave in and took off the lock code on the tv in the living room but only on his channels. Was I wrong for giving in? I don't know but at least now he's talking to me again! (Sigh)....men and their tvs...
