Holy...socks?

What? Holy socks? Bet that's one you haven't heard before. Holy smokes, holy cow, holy...well you get my point. But "holy socks" that's a new one for me. Or is it?

Today was a bit chilly so when I got dressed to take my kids to school (yes, had to take both of them because we missed my daughter's bus this morning) I threw on a sweat shirt, jeans, a pair of socks and my Birkenstocks. When I got home and took off my shoes I looked down and thought, 'Holy socks! Well...at least my toes are painted'! I hate feet so let's get that out right now! They're gross and stinky and not all that pretty to look at. But the reason I always have my toes painted isn't because I think my toes are cute or anything it's because even in the winter when I have socks on you can still see my toes.

Every year I go get myself some new socks. And since we don't have a lot of money I always go for the cheapest ones thinking that in a couple of weeks I can splurge and get some nice ones. Well...that never happens. There is always something else more important to buy than socks, you know like food for a family of five, gas, the electric bill and so on, so I wear the cheap ones and get by. But it always comes back to bite me in my....toes! I know it looks so hoosier but hey, they're MY toes and if I want (errr...have) to show them even in the winter time then it's my choice. I don't really mind getting cold, wet toes from the rain and snow anyway. Keeping them wet is good for moisturizing. But I do hate the winter, the cold and I just don't get along so well. I'm a fall and spring kinda girl. So maybe this year when I go buy myself some new ones I'll finally splurge and get some more expensive ones that I won't have to replace next year. Yeah, that's what I'll do! Oh...but I almost forgot...the dog needs more food, the kids need lunch money, the baby needs diapers and I have to have my People magazine. Hmmm...well there's always next year!
