Do you ever get that nagging feeling that your day is going too well? That it's going so well that something HAS to come crashing down to make it bad? Well, that's what happened to us tonight. A great day, playing, cleaning up the backyard, a great dinner and then comes the crash! Literally, my daughter (7 1/2) came crashing down from the couch and onto the floor. She was jumping off the couch to get away from her brother; they always play too rough. She is not usually one to cry when she gets a boo-boo so when I heard her screaming I knew something was wrong. She is a pretty tough cookie! So after about an hour of her screaming non-stop I called my hubs and he came home to take care of the other two and I took her to the Urgent Care.
As if my daughter's pain and crying wasn't enough the Urgent Care staffers, as nice as they were, were being incredibly lazy and taking forever! We sat there for what seemed like ever and besides us there was only one other person there waiting to be seen. And there were 5+ nurses and a doctor there. So what was the hold up? I could hear them out in the hall asking who "had time" to do an x-ray! 'WHAT??? You're all sitting out there talking and fidgeting around with crap! What do you mean who has time? STOP talking and playing around and work and take care of my crying child before I hit menopause please!!! My hair is turning gray already!'
So finally a nurse comes in and takes my daughter to get her x-ray done. Then after sitting in the room a while longer (like forever and two periods later) the doctor comes in and tells us she broke her wrist! Which kinda surprised me because after a while it seemed like she was doing/feeling better so I thought that maybe it wasn't broken. BUT...it is! So tomorrow we'll be heading to the hospital to get a cast. Preferably a pink one that she can write Hannah Montana all over. I'm sure she'll be up most of the night which means I will be up most of the night calming her down and explaining to her that having a cast will be fun because if anyone picks on her she has a built-on weapon! lol So please keep her in your thoughts and/or prayers while she is going through this. Thanks and I hope everyone else has a restful night.
