We are on a quest for victory! My daughters soccer team, Galaxy, has been practicing soooo hard and still they haven't won a game or for that matter even scored one goal in any of the games. So sad but true. It seems as though whenever we think, 'Ohhhh....there it is! Their first goal!' we are suddenly disappointed by the other teams rockin goalie! JERKS! lol
My daughter is 7 1/2 and still sometimes can fit into a size 24 months! Yes, I'm NOT kiddin! She came out of her room one day wearing the cutest little pair of shorts and when I asked her where she got them she told me I had bought them for her. It wasn't until that evening when she got undressed that I looked at the tag and saw that she was wearing a pair of 24 month capris that I had bought for the baby! lol So anyway, she is in 2nd grade and is playing on a 3rd grade team. So needless to say she is the smallest one on her team and the smallest one on the field playing. Especially considering that most of the time we are stuck wondering if the other team is really 3rd graders or short 20 year olds b/c they're HUGE! I get all nervous b/c I think of all the what-ifs! What if she gets hurt by some monstrous kid on the field? What if she gets a solid ball to the face? What if she gets into a fight? She has a tendency to be a little stinker sometimes! But the important thing is that she is having fun....right? See now this is where my competitiveness comes out! lol All I want is for them to win one friggin game! That's it! Just one! C'mon soccer gods, give my kid a break!
So we practice, but not enough. She really needs to worry less about hurting someones feelings and worry more about how she's gonna get that darn ball back and get a goal for her team. Of course this is coming from the person that played indoor soccer and was the only one on the team more worried about how her hair looked then being a team player! But hey I made the team 'look' good! (wink wink) lol Ask my parents, they still make fun of me for it!
So we're on a Galaxy Quest to win our first game! We need some well wishes, prayers and lots of 'em and some major attitude to help them get into the, 'that's OUR ball and we want it back' mentality! GO GALAXY!!!
