I have soooo many pet peeves! *understatement alert* Some of my main ones are: bad, pissy, hostile drivers (sorry Steph, lol), ignorant people, screaming children (and I mean SCREAMING children!!!), those sometimes frequent eye twitches that you can't get rid of and well...just too many to list. So today I find that four of my pet peeves were ready and waiting for me. Greeeaatt!!! The hubs and I decided that we would let our son skip pre-k and take him and the baby to the zoo. A near and dear friend of ours gave our kids zoo memberships for their birthdays. BEST gift in the world for kids! Its the gift that keeps on giving all year. It doesn't take up any space in your house, you don't have to clean it up and you won't trip over it!
Anyway, back on topic....so since the hubs was going too I stupidly thought it would be nice and relaxing if he drove and I could just sit and relax on the way there. (Notice I said, stupidly thought!!!!) I should know after ten years of being together that the man cannot drive! He gets way too close to other drivers, stops a little short of causing fatal accidents and always gets pissy when other drivers don't know how to drive! LOL!!! 'Ok honey...you're so much better of a driver than they are! Please pull over so that I can puke!'
So we get to the zoo all in one piece! Thank you Lord! We didn't have much time to stay since we had to be home in time to get our oldest off the bus. But we still wanted the little ones to have a good day. We stayed for a while, drove the train (which my son thinks is the best, most interesting thing at the zoo...screw the animals, they've got nothing compared to what Thomas the Train has!) saw the penguins, the bears, the baby tigers, the monkeys and they both got a new stuffed animal (like we needed another damn animal in our house! One more thing for me to pick up and/or trip over!) and then we were on our way. Oh and I should mention that the baby SCREAMED and was acting like she belonged in the zoo with some zoo keepers! lol She finally fell asleep at some point but would realize every now and then that she had fallen asleep mid screaming and thought, 'hey...I can't stop...I muussttt keep screamin...' off to sleep again! So it was fun! ;)
On our way home I wasn't sure if we would get as lucky as we did on our way there. Would we make it home alive? I wasn't so sure considering that I was so nervous that my eye lid was twitching a mile a minute! 'Lord, please make it stop! Not only this eye twitch, Lord, but also my husbands bad driving habits!' But we did make it home safe and sound! (There's no place like home, there's no place like home! [thought that would be appropriate considering the name of this blog!]) So again, thank you Lord! I swear that sometimes driving with that man is like being on an out of control roller coaster that doesn't end but you can still get off and say, 'Man...that was one hella ride!'. There have been times when I thought how stupid I was for not wearing a helmet, wearing some protective padding and bringing along a puke bag! It's scary and exhausting!
So we got home (in one piece) and the baby decided that she hadn't done enough screaming to meet her daily quota so she started up again. Man...I love her more than I can ever put into words but I know that God made her cute for a reason! Ok I'm sorry...I'm rambling.
Ok so THEN I'm driving our oldest to PSR (public school religion class) and a woman in front of me, she must have been the official owner of the HWY, was all over the road! Man...I wanted to pass her but was too scared to, I thought if I kept enough distance we'd be ok. But then she decided to make an illegal turn and break faster than a smoker at lunch hour! I hit my breaks and then my horn! BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP!!!!! 'You idiot, learn how to drive!' Oh man...now I'm sounding like my father and yelling at people that drive like my husband! (Say five Hail Mary's and you'll be ok!)
So now I'm adding to my list of pet peeves! Sounding, acting and driving like my father! Check!

you're sooo funny! do you wish you would've just stayed home?
i've become a little road rage driver lately...it's sad when you get home and have to ask God for forgiveness!!!
love your blog...keep it updated :)
No! Even though it wasn't the best day b/c of her constant screaming, my son had fun and that's all that really matters. He got to ride the train so it was all good! ;)
Thanks! I will try! Hopefully I won't run out of things to say! lol
